Poem

springs of us

And there we were, upon this wondrous rock -- so sturdy,
perhaps we could build it all from there, maybe we are.
It's been sitting there, in its tear-filled world,
for a time too long to count,
but now it is this time and it is here for you and me.

Oh what a day, to spend it in your eyes
and the splash of love all about.
And this stream knows us well --
with its innumerable forks and mergings,
how we have spilled over the falls so many times,
but then been eased to rest in a pool of emotions.

Just two drops of life and in an infinitely drenched creek;
we have found each other.
Maybe one day we'll become a rock, a piece of forever,
a place for new lovers to rest their hearts upon.

As the water pours over my feet, I can feel it conquering my soul,
and as I gaze gently into you face
I am assured of its gracefulness and beauty.

Why won't you trust your hand in mine,
to step into the stream
and let the water rush all over you?
