Aphrodite
Poem

Broken Heart

My feet crunch across the brittle grass
The amber sun is fading fast
A dark blanket looms over the sky
As the cold wind howls, I wonder why-

I wonder, why am I standing here?
Cold, wet, alone... yet, nothing to fear
The rain slowly begins to pour
I just stand there, my heart feeling sore

The dark sky flashes with light
The sun has completley vanished from sight
The thunder rolls, I close my eyes
And realize I'm free from all your lies

The storm's fury lets loose, so does my heart
I finally believe it was wrong from the start
Your love has caused me nothing but pain
Now I'm free, I smile, but I'm still soaked by the rain
