Just down the road....around the bend,
Are dozens of garage sales, if one hastime to spend.
GARAGE SALE in letters six incheshigh;
Address requires binoculars to read it atall.
Everyone wants the first sale of thespring;
It's amazing to see the crowds theybring.
Some park their cars, jump out and run;
A catastrophy to be behind someone.
First to the free box...Any goodies inthere?
Then to romance novels...they areeverywhere.
Women's clothing, baby things galore,
Broken toys, stuffed animals and awhole lot more.
Worn out shoes that have seen their day;
Would have made more sense to justthrow them away.
Odds and ends of dishes, along withrussty tools;
Shovels, rakes and outgrown wadingpools.
Baskets. vases and jewelry one can't livewithout.
Everything is a bargain...of that there's nodoubt.
Craft items, pictures and half skeins ofyarn;
And countless other things not worth adarn.
There is no end to what one can find ata sale;
Even some things worthwhile for thoseprevail.
There is at least one more sale to attend,
Just down the road....around the bend.
