She sits in her rocker and talks with afriend.
She talks of the days of her childhood;
Times that were trying and tmes that weregood.
She talks of the games they used to play,
And the total heartbreak when a friendmoved away.
She talks of her parents and the love inher heart,
And the terrible sadness when their timecame to depart.
She talks of her grandparents; so gentleand kind;
To most of her faults, they chose to beblind.
She talks of dances, church socials andsuch;
Of her brothers and sisters she loved somuch.
She talks of making clothes after learningto sew;
Of those wonderful teen years and of herfirst beau.
She talks of meeting the man whobecame her life's mate.
Nice girls, at that time never kissed onfirst date.
She talks of their wedding and the homethey made;
The fondest of memories...they will neverfade.
She talks of the pain when he passedaway,
But has faith they will meet again some-day.
She talks of her children...they are nowall grown,
With spouses and families and lives oftheir own.
