Poem

Old Age

Just down the road....around the bend,
Old age will arrive...no use to pretend.

Hair will turn gray, what isn't lost;
Some will try to save, whatever the cost.

Aches and pains you've never felt before;
Just a little activity makes the musclessore.

Eyesight changes will make glasses amust,
And, to a hearing aid, you might have toadjust.

Teeth will be kept in a cup at night,
And Ben Gay will become a commonsight.

Bathroom trips will become more frequentthen,
And most nights you'll retire long beforeten.

Things you try to remember will slipaway;
To suddenly come to the very next day.

Your doctor will insist that you watch yourweight;
You'll have to be careful what you put onyour plate.

When you mourn family and friends thatpass away,
Just remember you will meet themanother day.

Old age won't be bad....you'll be freeas the birds,
Although some folks think they are twonasty words.

If we approach it with positive thoughtsin mind,
We may find those years surprisinglykind.

We should think of those years as adividend,
Just down the road....around the bend.
