The Worm

Imagine the confusion when a worm becomes a mother!
She might have several offspring she must feed,
But how does she distinguish baby's one end from the other?
How does she tell which is the end in need?

The front end of the baby is no different from the rear,
But mothers, surely, have a way to tell;
Perhaps to make quite certain, to allay maternal fears,
She'll feed the front and then the back as well!
