God and government protect me
From sharks who hunger for my cash.
And make sure that when I travel
I fly on planes that never crash.
Keep my antibodies robust,
Lest some hideous disease
Corrupt portions of my body
From my ear lobes to my knees.
Keep my roof immune from punctures
And my house immune from thieves,
And satisfy my little gripes
Before they grow up into peeves.
Restore my hair and teeth and skin
To the way they used to be
Before the euphemism senior
Was applicable to me.
Do all this, God and Government
And in return I vow that I'll
Say my prayers every evening
And pay my taxes with a smile.
