Don't put off until tomorrow
what you can do today.
But, there are those of us who feel,
it should be the other way.
Strike the iron while it's hot.
Somebody used to say.
Yet, some other person said,
Rome was not built in a day.
Don't put off until tomorrow
what you can do much later.
Now, that's what called the spirit of
a true procrastinator.
When you get that urge put it off,
you must resist and fight it.
I'll give you a reply to that
when I get 'round to write it.
We are not a lazy lot,
You just don't know the score.
We're too busy doing today,
things from the day before.
I know there's others just like me,
and, with them, I will speak.
We'll form an association.
I'll get to that next week.
I'm starting out on the right foot.
This fact will make it clear.
Our first annual meeting will be
postponed until next year.
I'm only halfway through this poem,
and to the code I'm true.
I'll finish it some other time.
I've got something else to do.
