We need new foes to fight each day,
We need more dragons yet to slay,
In battle bold to blithely go
Forthwith exchanging blow for blow,
Exulting ever in the fray,
With no retreat and no dismay,
With vows to keep and debts to pay;
To earn our spurs while here below,
We need new foes.
From time to time along the way
We may require new prayers to pray;
When such be so, it's apropos
To call upon a small rondeau,
A bit of verse, to help us say:
We need new foes.
