Poem

Along The Road of Life

If I were told to make my way
Along the road of life
With only love as weaponry
Against all cares and strife.

Perhaps I'd find the path too steep
As conflicts test the will.
Perhaps an unkind quirk of fate
Would cause the heart to still.

But oh, I know that love would be
The lamp to guide my feet
My shield against adversity
My hope for joy complete.
