People, I hear, coming from far and near,
And have traveled as far as from Bohn.
To see the great show, the wonderful show,
Down at the Greer's pasture pond.
With festive decor, cotton candy and more,
Bright pennants snap in the wind.
The crowd's jammed ‘round, Greer's pond it has found,
And agog for the show to begin.
On a platform nearby, a circus band starts to ply,
A repertoire of great music is played.
Strauss Waltzes and such, what a wonderful touch,
And then they play, Over the Waves.
With a round of applause and resounding hurrahs,
Vince, the Pond Master, makes his debut.
With continuing cheers, he walks to the pier,
And yells, Time for the all fish review!
His costume as such, just a little too much,
With his tight, golden suit of lame'.
A red velvet coat, and a hat like a boat,
With blue boots that are probably suede.
The Pond Master waves, his baton or' the waves,
Barks commands through his big megaphone.
Then three cat fish swim by, in a perfect align,
And together dive deep neath the foam.
And then all at once, from out of swamp,
Our whiskered friends fly in the air.
Like dolphins they jump, in a nice little bunch,
Bout ten feet, they easily clear.
Many tricks were in store, for an hour or more,
A show like we never have seen.
Cat fishes jumped high, through hoops they would fly,
As the crowd, with hilarity screamed.
When the show finally ended, little kids weren't contented,
For they'd hoped it would last all day long.
But the cats had to rest, so they'd be at their best,
For the next show at Greer's Pasture Pond.
