Poem

Road Sage

As hanging out wet clothing

Brings rain from sunny sky;

As focusing your loathing

Means headaches, by and by;

As spending that last dollar

Accelerates the drop

Of new bills in your letter-box,

Till bills o'er fill the top;

Then so it is, when boring

Flat-chat along some road,

Speed limit signs ignoring,

And safety of your load,

Your foolishness is challenged:

Not by the Hand of Fate,

....But by great shiny Four-Wheel Drive,

inches from your date.
