Poem

Scruff, The Tragic Wagon

Scruff, the tragic wagon,
worked down the mine
shuntin' to and fro all day
with coal along the line
until, that is, a miner
by the name of Oldroyd Knapp
lit his pipe of St.Bruno Gold
and Scruff were turned to scrap.

And Oldroyd Knapp's recollection
of the event is somewhat blurred
as, alas, he went to pieces
-some of which have been interred.
