The President's Speech

My fellow Americans
having watched with you the horror
the extremist billowing smoke
the soaring helplessness
and yes, the bravery
in the face of a four-fuselage
terrorist attack

the orphans whose Moms or Dads
only went to work
the Grandparents
suddenly snapped from the tree of generations
their children, soft gray ash

I have resolved
that never again will any American
be called upon to
unleash fireballs from a great height
never to bomb
shelters, mental homes, TV stations or embassies
nor any other morsel of
our fellow world citizens' territory
and all our Military resources
will henceforth
be applied only to peaceful, neighborly assistance
in the creation of homes, food, clean water and schools,
to any who request it.
God bless America.
